Hey there guys, I try not to put anyone else’s artwork on my blog but renowned animator Ken Duncan has a Kickstarter ending in 37 hours that could really use your help! His project is an Interactive Storybook App for the iPad, and I gotta say: it looks pretty darn cute.
For those of you who don’t know Ken Duncan, he is the genius behind many scenes of Meg from Hercules and Jane from Tarzan! (links are to roughs of his animations, take a look!)
If a kickstarter for a Brony documentary can raise $60k+, I don’t see why such a talented fellow should be denied 35k. And even if you only donate a dollar, it would still help to see his project realized. So, please donate here! And reblog this!

Crayon Dragon, by Toniko Pantoja
“A girl is commissioned to paint over an old concrete illustration, in which to her surprise, sinks into.
She befriends a painted dragon who has a wing missing.”
My Brother’s end of year project at Calarts. Other people were posting animation projects, so I wanted to show off this one. and I’m trying not to get into it, but I’m insanely jealous at his ability to do shit like this. I will never let him know, but I think I needed to appreciate his stuff more.

Disney’s Mulan Deleted Scene: Reflection
In my opinion, deleting this scene from “Reflection” was a terrible mistake. The song is beautiful, don’t get me wrong, but this added part takes a somewhat disparing song and makes being different empowering and strong.
Wow.. just… wow. Why did they deleteee… ;_;
Out of Sight
A very touching animation by three students at the National Taiwan University of Arts as part of their grad film. You can check out some of the behind the scenes storyboarding HERE.

If you can’t see the Miyazaki-inspired tributes then you’re blind—BAZINGA!
Incredible Team Fortress inspired short movie
This short film is the cutest ever and a nice story. It’s also directed by one of my favorite childrens’ book authors, William Joyce.
Incredibly cute.
Also, moving books, what’s there not to love? :D
Full thing is on itunes.
Really awesome animation. The art is so clean! The only thing that’s really “Japanese” about the art is the characters though, haha. The rest feels totally European…which is fine! It’s just interesting that animators fresh out of the box in Japan would animate in such a ‘western’ style.
Roughly translated: She’s asking him out, but he says “sorry, I want to play baseball!”..she runs off screaming “stupid Takashi!” Second time she says “I’ll make miso soup for you everyday!!” But… yeah. Poor girl. xD
The director of this is looking for a job, and his blog is here for those who can read Japanese.
