Famous for its scenery, cinematography, and near complete lack of special effects (almost exclusively used simply to remove bystanders from shots), The Fall was filmed over a period of four years in over twenty countries, including India, Namibia, South Africa, Italy, and Indonesia. One review said, “See it for no other reason than because it exists. There will never be another like it.”
Directed by Amma Asante. Starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Miranda Richardson, Emma Watson Tom Wilkinson, Sarah Gadon, Sam Claflin, James Norton, Penelope Wilton, Tom Felton, Sam Reid and Matthew Goode. Premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last month.
First, this looks pretty solid. Second, I have been wanting a “Black Girl Period Piece” as my friend Cameron calls for it forever. Third, why do I have to wait until May?
In theaters May 2, 2014
I NEED THIS. Saving the date
A period Drama with black people.. *rips hair out in excitement*. I live for this shit.
Looks like it’ll be a really good movie. Not sure if I’ll see it, though. Racial movies tend to be a downer for me.
UGLY CRYING. HARD.
AYYYYY. Period pieces with lots of Black people in pretty period clothes. YAY.
*Emily Watson, not emma.
